About Valdosta State University

Valdosta State University (VSU or Valdosta State) is a public academic circles in Valdosta, Georgia. It is one of the four cumulative universities in the University System of Georgia. VSU serves higher than 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students representing 157 Georgia counties, all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, American Samoa and Washington, D.C. and hosts higher than 300 international students from 76 countries. VSU in addition to offers classes at Moody Air Force Base north of Valdosta in Lowndes County.

Degree levels offered at Valdosta State include associate, bachelor’s, master’s, Education Specialist, and doctoral degree. The academic circles comprises the colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Arts, and Nursing. The Graduate School as a consequence includes the Divisions of Social Work and Library Science.

Valdosta is a city in and the county chair of Lowndes County, Georgia, United States. As of 2019, Valdosta had an estimated population of 56,457.

Valdosta is the principal city of the Valdosta Metropolitan Statistical Area, which in 2010 had a population of 139,588. It includes Brooks County to the west.

Valdosta is called the Azalea City, as the forest grows in loads there. The city hosts an annual Azalea Festival in March.
