The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is a public research the academy in Huntsville, Alabama. The academic circles is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to praise baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees, and comprises nine colleges: arts, humanities & social sciences; business; education; engineering; honors; nursing; professional & continuing studies; science; and graduate. The university’s enrollment is approximately 10,000. It is classified among “R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity”.

UAH is one of three members of the University of Alabama System, which includes the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. All three institutions action independently, with without help the president of each university circles reporting to the Board of Trustees of the system.

Huntsville is a city in the Appalachian region of northern Alabama and is the county chair of Madison County. The city then extends out west into adjacent to Limestone County and extends south into Morgan County.

It was founded in 1805 and became an incorporated town in 1811. The city grew across approachable hills north of the Tennessee River, adding textile mills, then munitions factories, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and the United States Army Aviation and Missile Command clear at the Redstone Arsenal. The Huntsville metropolitan area’s population was 417,593 in 2010, making it the second most populous metropolitan area in the let in after the Birmingham metropolitan area. The Huntsville metro’s population reached 462,693 by 2018.
