About Oklahoma State University

Oklahoma State University (OSU) is a public land-grant research academe in Stillwater, Oklahoma. OSU was founded in 1890 under the Morrill Act. Originally known as Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College (Oklahoma A&M), it is the flagship institution of the Oklahoma State University System. Enrollment for the slip 2019 semester system was 24,071, with 20,024 undergraduates and 4,017 graduate students. OSU is classified among “R1: Doctoral Universities – Very tall research activity”.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys and Cowgirls have won 52 national championships, a sum greater than all but three NCAA Division I schools in the United States and whatever other universities in the Big 12 Conference. Stillwater is a city in, and the county chair of, Payne County, Oklahoma, United States. It is located in north-central Oklahoma at the intersection of U.S. Route 177 and State Highway 51. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 45,688, making it the tenth-largest city in Oklahoma. The Stillwater Micropolitan Statistical Area had a population of 78,399 according to the 2012 census estimate. Stillwater was allocation of the first Oklahoma Land Run held on April 22, 1889 gone the Unassigned Lands were opened for concurrence and became the core of the new Oklahoma Territory. The city charter was adopted on August 24, 1889, and operates below a council-manager giving out system.
