Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) is a private Catholic academic circles in Belmont, California. It is the third oldest college in California and the first teacher in the let in authorized to consent the baccalaureate degree to women. The university is organized into three schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and Management, and the School of Education and Leadership. Belmont is a city in San Mateo County in the U.S. state of California. Ralston Hall is a historic landmark built by Bank of California founder William Chapman Ralston upon the campus of Notre Dame de Namur University, and is also house to Notre Dame High School. The locally famous “Waterdog Lake” is afterward located in the foothills and highlands of Belmont.

A permanent structure from the Panama-Pacific International Exposition is upon Belmont Avenue (another is the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco). The building was brought to Belmont by E.D. Swift immediately after the exposition closed in 1915.

Belmont has a smoking ordinance passed in January 2009 which bans smoking in everything businesses and multi-story apartments and condominiums; the ordinance has been described as one of the strictest in the nation.
