Norwich University – The Military College of Vermont is a private military academy in Northfield, Vermont. It is the oldest private military teacher in the United States and offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees on-campus and online. The university circles was founded in 1819 at Norwich, Vermont, as the American Literary, Scientific and Military Academy. It is the oldest of six senior military colleges and is qualified by the United States Department of Defense as the “Birthplace of ROTC” (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps).

Northfield is a town in Washington County, Vermont, United States. The town lies in a valley within the Green Mountains and has been home to Norwich University back 1866. It contains the village of Northfield, where higher than half of the population lives. The town’s total population was 6,207 at the 2010 census.
