About Marietta College

Marietta College (MC) is a private broadminded arts university in Marietta, Ohio. It offers more than 50 undergraduate majors across the arts, sciences, and engineering, as capably as Physician Assistant, Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and Athletic training graduate programs. Its campus encompasses approximately three city blocks adjacent to downtown Marietta and enrolls 1,200 full-time students.

Marietta is a city in, and the county chair of, Washington County, Ohio, United States. During 1788, pioneers to the Ohio Country customary Marietta as the first surviving settlement of the supplementary United States in the Territory Northwest of the River Ohio. Marietta is located in southeastern Ohio at the mouth of the Muskingum River at its confluence later than the Ohio River 11 miles northeast of Parkersburg, West Virginia. The population was 14,085 at the 2010 census.

It is the second-largest city in the Parkersburg-Marietta-Vienna, WV-OH Combined Statistical Area. The private, nonsectarian futuristic arts Marietta College is located here. It was a station upon the Underground Railroad previously the Civil War. Marietta is along with the site of the early Marietta Earthworks, a Hopewell complex more than 1500 years old, whose Great Mound and additional major monuments were preserved by the archaic settlers in parks such as the Mound Cemetery.
