Long Island University (LIU) is a private college circles with two main campuses, LIU Post and LIU Brooklyn, in the U.S. state of New York. It offers greater than 500 academic programs at its main campuses, online, and at multiple non-residential. LIU has NCAA Division I athletics and hosts the annual George Polk Awards in journalism.

Half of New York Institute of Technology’s 1,050 acre Old Westbury campus is located in the Village of Brookville. The village is the home of LIU Post, the largest campus of the private Long Island University system. The Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School is afterward located in the village. Brookville is partially served by Locust Valley Central School District, with greater majority served by the Jericho Union Free School District along in the same way as most of Muttontown and Jericho.
