Founded in 1909 as a teacher’s college (originally, Keene Normal School; later, Keene Teachers College), Keene State College has 3,528 students enrolled for credit as of 2019.

Keene is a city in, and the chair of, Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 23,409 at the 2010 census.

Keene is house to Keene State College and Antioch University New England. It hosted the state’s annual pumpkin festival from 1991 to 2014, several time setting a world baby book for most jack-o’-lanterns upon display.
