About Jamestown Community College
Jamestown Community College is a public community university with campuses in Jamestown, New York and Olean, New York. It is ration of the State University of New York system. JCC in addition to has strengthening centers in Dunkirk, New York and Warren, Pennsylvania. The literary offers on top of 60 degree and certify programs.
Founded in 1950, Jamestown Community College was the first locally sponsored community bookish in the State University of New York system. The college has grown from an enrollment of 169 students attending classes held at Jamestown High School to an enrollment of 2,484 in 2019-20 in the middle of its sites.
JCC is accredited by the Middle States Commission upon Higher Education. Its curricula are official by the State University of New York and are registered by the New York State Department of Education. JCC’s nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. JCC’s occupational therapy assistant program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Jamestown Community College in Jamestown, NY Review
Jamestown is a city in southern Chautauqua County, New York, United States. The population was 31,146 at the 2010 census and was estimated at 29,058 in 2019. Situated in the midst of Lake Erie to the north and the Allegheny National Forest to the south, Jamestown is the largest population middle in the county. Nearby Chautauqua Lake is a freshwater resource used by fishermen, boaters, and naturalists.
Notable people from Jamestown count up legendary comedienne Lucille Ball, U.S. Supreme Court justice and Nuremberg chief prosecutor Robert H. Jackson, naturalist Roger Tory Peterson, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
In the 20th century, Jamestown was a successful industrial area, noted for producing several well-known products. They swell the crescent wrench, produced by Karl Peterson’s the Crescent Tool Company in Jamestown beginning in 1907. and the automatic lever voting machine, manufactured by the Automatic Voting Machine Company, which dominated the lever voting robot industry from its location on Jones and Gifford Avenue in Jamestown until its bankruptcy in 1983. Jamestown was also like called the “Furniture Capital of the World” because of the once-thriving furniture industry. People visited from anything over the country to attend furniture expositions at the Furniture Mart, a building that yet stands in the city and houses offices for a variety of companies. For most of the 20th century, Blackstone Corporation, led by Reginald Lenna, was Jamestown’s largest employer and one of the driving cores of the local economy, manufacturing washing machines and automobile components.
