Herkimer County Community College is a community school in Herkimer, New York and is allocation of the State University of New York system.
Herkimer College in Herkimer, NY Review
Herkimer is a village on the north side of the Mohawk River and the county chair of Herkimer County, New York, United States, about 15 miles (24 km) southeast of Utica. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 7,743. It was allowance of the Burnetsfield Patent and the first European-American agreement this far west in the Mohawk Valley.
The village takes its publish from the Herkimer family, Palatine German immigrants who contracted in the Place in 1723. The most notable family member was Nicholas Herkimer, a general of the Tryon County militia, who died from wounds standard at the Battle of Oriskany in the American Revolutionary War.
The village is located within the town of Herkimer and Herkimer County; together they are referred to as “The Herkimers”. The citizens of the village are served by three levels of processing of the thesame name: the village, the town and the county of Herkimer. (Only the residents of the village of Madison and New York County, also in New York, share a thesame distinction.)
Herkimer County Community College, located in the northwest ration of the village, was founded in 1966 by the Herkimer County Board of Supervisors.
