About Harper College
William Rainey Harper College is a public community studious in Palatine, Illinois. It was conventional by referendum in 1965 and opened in September 1967. It is named for William Rainey Harper, a swashbuckler in the junior learned movement in the United States and the first president of the University of Chicago.[citation needed]

Palatine (/ˈpælətaɪn/) is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is a northwestern residential suburb of Chicago. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 68,557, making it the seventh-largest community in Cook County and the 18th-largest in the come clean of Illinois.
