About Gustavus Adolphus College

Gustavus Adolphus College (/ɡəsˈteɪvəs/ gəs-TAY-vəs) is a private unprejudiced arts university in St. Peter, Minnesota. It was founded in 1862 by Swedish Americans and is affiliated like the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The speculative retains its Swedish and Lutheran heritage.

St. Peter is a city in Nicollet County, Minnesota, United States. It is 10 miles north of the Mankato – North Mankato metropolitan area. The population was 11,196 at the 2010 census. St. Peter is the county chair of Nicollet County and home to Gustavus Adolphus College. It is also home to the Minnesota Security Hospital, which houses the mentally sick and dangerous.

U.S. Highway 169 and Minnesota State Highways 22 and 99 are three of the city’s main routes.

St. Peter’s sister city is Petatlán, Guerrero, Mexico.
