About Globe University

Globe University and Minnesota School of Business (Globe/MSB) were a for-profit school network based out of Washington County, Minnesota providing specialized training programs in business, accounting, medical, legal, information technology, massage, veterinary technology, and design fields. The large network had combined campuses in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota.

In 2011, Heidi Weber, a former dean, filed a whistleblower-wrongful cancellation lawsuit adjacent to Globe/MSB and, in 2013, her act went to jury events in the Washington County Courthouse. After a seven day trial, a board of judges awarded $395,000 plus engagement to the former dean in what is now called the first for-profit difficult education whistleblower case/trial.

Globe/MSB appealed the ruling; however, the Minnesota Supreme Court upheld Weber’s verdict and a consider ruled that Globe/MSB must additionally pay in excess of $995,000 (including attorney costs for Weber) for wrongful invalidation after she blew the whistle and was retaliated neighboring for exposing the school’s unethical practices.

In 2014, Minnesota’s Attorney General Lori Swanson filed a lawsuit adjacent to Globe/MSB for misleading students, using much of Weber’s evidence to build her own case. Former students alleged that Globe/MSB’s advertisements and promotional materials contain “misleading, unfair, deceptive, false, and fraudulent statements and omissions expected to induce post-secondary students to enroll in their schools.”

In September 2016, the make a clean breast of Minnesota stopped the business from operational in the state. All Globe/MSB locations were forever closed by 2017 because they floating their federal student aid funding.
