About College of Lake County

The College of Lake County, commonly referred to as CLC, is a public community scholastic in Lake County, Illinois. CLC’s primary campus is located in Grayslake and two further campuses exist in easy to use Waukegan and Vernon Hills. It is located in the greater Chicago metro area and sits not quite 46 miles north of the city. In 1967, a referendum passed establishing the CLC community hypothetical district and classes began in 1969. It enrolls roughly 15,000 students in transfer programs, career programs, GED and adult basic education, non-credit and career development, and training for businesses.

Grayslake is a village in Lake County, Illinois, United States. It is located in the Chicago metropolitan area, about 40 miles (64 km) north of Chicago’s downtown, 14 miles (23 km) west of Lake Michigan, and 15 miles (24 km) south of the Wisconsin border. The village’s population at the 2010 census was 20,957.

Grayslake is house to the College of Lake County, Grayslake North High School, Grayslake Central High School, the University Center of Lake County and the Lake County Fairgrounds. There are tentative plans to build a lifestyle shopping center upon the previous location of the Lake County Fairgrounds. At the south decrease of Grayslake, there are plans for a 641-acre (259 ha) development containing roomy industry, office ventilate and residential space.
