About Ashland University

Ashland University is a private Christian academe in Ashland, Ohio. The university consists of a 135-acre (55 ha) main campus and several off-campus centers throughout central and northern Ohio. Ashland was founded in 1878 as Ashland College. It “ffirms Christian values as a core element of the University’s institutional identity,” and is affiliated similar to the Brethren Church.

In auxiliary to a graduate school, the academic circles consists of four colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the Schar College of Education, the Dauch College of Business and Economics, and the Schar College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Ashland Theological Seminary, a separation of Ashland University, offers a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree as capably as a number of master’s degrees. Ashland is classified as a master’s the academy with most graduate research being in a professional field.

Ashland is a city in and the county chair of Ashland County, Ohio, United States, 66 miles southwest of Cleveland and 82 miles northeast of Columbus. The population was 20,362 at the 2010 census. It is the center of the Ashland Micropolitan Statistical Area (as defined by the United States Census Bureau in 2003).

Ashland was designated a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation in 1984.
