About Angelo State University

Angelo State University is a public academe in San Angelo, Texas. It was founded in 1928 as San Angelo College. It gained the academy status and awarded its first baccalaureate degrees in 1967 and graduate degrees in 1969, the similar year it took on its current name. It offers greater than 100 undergraduate programs and 34 graduate programs. It is the second-largest campus in the Texas Tech University System.

San Angelo /sæn ˈændʒəloʊ/ is a city in and the county chair of Tom Green County, Texas, United States. Its location is in the Concho Valley, a region of West Texas in the company of the Permian Basin to the northwest, Chihuahuan Desert to the southwest, Osage Plains to the northeast, and Central Texas to the southeast. According to a 2019 Census estimate, San Angelo has a sum population of 101,004. It is the principal city and middle of the San Angelo metropolitan area, which has a population of 118,182.

San Angelo is house to Angelo State University, historic Fort Concho, and Goodfellow Air Force Base. Common nicknames of the city improve Angelo, the Concho City, the Pearl of the Conchos, and the Oasis of West Texas.
