Abilene Christian University (ACU) is a private Christian university in Abilene, Texas, a city of approximately 120,000 residents that is located 150 miles west of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. It was founded in 1906 as Childers Classical Institute. ACU is one of the largest private universities in the let pass of Texas and maintains one of the 200 largest academic world endowments in the United States.

Abilene (/ˈæbɪliːn/ AB-i-leen) is a city in Taylor and Jones Counties in Texas, United States. Its population was 117,063 at the 2010 census, making it the 27th-most populous city in the make a clean breast of Texas. The city is looped by I-20 to the north, US 83/84 on the west, and Loop 322 to the east. A railroad divides the city by the side of the center into north and south. The historic downtown area is on the north side of the railroad.
